Robes, tassels, and cords, oh my! It’s graduation time, and I am surprised at how many graduates I know this year. Our next few weeks are filled with graduation parties celebrating this emotional milestone! It seems like yesterday my oldest was graduating from high school, and now he only has a year left of college!
I just helped him move into his apartment for his internship this summer, and when I came home it hit me that he’s practically an adult. Throughout those long sleepless nights of the newborn stage until now seem like they happened in the blink of an eye! Feeling sentimental, I looked through the photo book I made for him when he graduated from high school, and through teary eyes and sniffles, marveled at the moments we have shared through the years.
The book itself was filled with all sorts of helpful “advice” with pictures from throughout his childhood to illustrate the encouragement to “Enjoy new experiences,” “Work hard,” “Take time for fun,” “Be a team player,” “Dress for Success,” “Be a gentleman,” etc. I had so much fun looking back at our life in photos, and I even put a picture of his first day of Kindergarten and first day of Senior year on the cover.
I cherish that book and the many other photo books I have made. I think of them like digital scrapbooks that I can print. Of course, when the kids were young, I did scrapbook with friends, but I have found that digital books are a lot easier to create and don’t leave my house covered in paper scraps and glue dots!
If you are looking for some great personal gift ideas for the graduate in your life, consider a photo book of advice, milestones throughout the graduate’s life, memories of a special trip, a stroll down memory lane with the family or a special group of friends, or whatever you want! With digital photos, making these is very easy.
