DIY Spring Wreath

by Nora Leave a Comment

This is a simple and easy Spring Wreath. I was able to purchase everything at the dollar store for $6!

A wire wreath, four plastic tableclothes and a cute Happy Easter wood sign to go in the middle.

Having four tablecloths are not a necessity. I just picked out the colors that I wanted and ended up with four. I do have a tone of leftover strips, so four tablecloths would be enough for at least two wreaths.

Two tablecloths should be plenty to do one wreath.

Although, this is a super easy project it is very time consuming.

I was looking for something to occupy my time and also be able to spend time doing other things. This was the perfect project for multi-tasking.

Gathered all my materials that I bought at the dollar store, plus my cutting mat, ruler, rotary tool and some scissors. Don’t worry if you do not have the “fancy” cutting tools. A regular ruler and scissors will work perfectly fine.

When the tablecloth is taken out of the wrapper, I just unfolded a few times and laid it out flat. Then cut long strips of 7 inches until I used the entire tablecloth.

The I took the long strips of 7 inches high and cut them into 1 1/2 in strips.

Creating 7 inch by 1 1/2 inch strips. I them took each stack of strips and snipped off the corners on all the sides to create a point on each end.

This is a stack of all my colors. I placed them in the order that I wanted. That way I will have a set pattern.

Double stacking each color makes for a brighter wreath.

Take two strips of one color and tie on the inside ring. Repeat through your color pattern and repeat until you have finished the ring. I had to push the ties together to make more space. Make sure to have the same number of ties in each section and continue with your pattern.

Doing one ring at a time was very helpful. I was able to press all the strips back and had lots of room to work with.

Continue with your pattern, making sure that you are packing everything together tightly. This is the time consuming part. I was able to multi task making my wreath and watching movies, listening to books on tape, singing songs, talking on the phone, arguing with family members, listening to pod casts, playing games and yelling at my children. See, I said this would take a while to do! And I am sure I left a tone of things out!

After the wreath is complete, I just put the wood sign right in the middle.

It turned out really cute and I was able to be “crafty” with out spending a ton of money.
