There is a great way to organize coats, hats, scarves, purses, etc., but this helpful item doesn’t have a great name! The best and most universal name I can find is a coat hook rail or board or rack. Please let me know if you have a better name! These are so versatile and can free up a lot of space. They are easy to customize to any décor or for whatever you want to hang. Use them in the laundry room for backpacks and jackets, the closet for scarves and purses, by the garage for keys, in the kitchen for aprons, poolside for beach towels.
Decide on what you will hang, how many hooks you will need, and the type of board on which you will mount them. Paint, stain, stencil, or distress the board. Space the hooks and mark where they need to be secured. Attach the hooks using a drill and screwdriver. Add mounting brackets (keyhole mounting brackets, sawtooth hangers (for lighter items), d-rings with clips). Hang on the wall into studs, or use wall anchors to secure the board to the wall. (If you want some ideas, view the links at the end of the post!)
Save time and sanity by being able to quickly and easily find what you need. Having a place for everything keeps the messes at bay, and helps us access our items much more easily. Now if I only had a better name for this handy device…
